Trombone is a musical instrument in the brass family。 The name ‘trombone’ means large trumpet。 The trombones along with trumpets, French horn (horn) and tubas make up the main groups of the brass instrument family。

Alto trombone, tenor trombone and the bass trombone are used in the contemporary orchestra with the tenor being often used in jazz。

Like all brass instruments (eg. trumpet, French horn (horn), sound is produced when the player’s vibrating lips cause the air inside the trombone to vibrate。 The trombone player varies the length of the tube to change pitches, although the valve trombone uses three valves similar to those on a trumpet

Trombone add the big full sound in the orchestra / marching band that makes attention。 Trombone is not a difficult instrument to learn, you can move the slide in and out to change the note。

Famous trombones solos are included:
Christopher Rouse’s trombone concerto
Paul Creston’s Fantasy for trombone
John Cage’s Solo for Sliding Trombone 。
